Consolidating mp3 files itunes

The disadvantage to consolidating only becomes a problem when you have limited storage space.

i Tunes M4P is an encoded audio file format which limits the number of computers that can share a given file.

MP3 is a much less restrictive file format that features similar sound quality.

Credits I pulled the above together over several years (from i Tunes 8 until now with i Tunes 12).

For those of you with older versions of i Tunes, here are the sites where I found helpful information: There are instances where the "Join Tracks" does not appear.

In addition to joining the tracks on each CD, you want to merge the CDs.

If it's a small book of only a few CDs, then you might want to merge all CDs into one CD.

It leaves the file in its original location as well.

Of course, you do have the option, at this point, to delete the original files and only keep the newly created copies in your i Tunes library.

Alternately, try burning the songs to a CD and re-importing them as MP3 files.
